Millions of girls are forced to drop out of school due to poverty, discrimination, and exploitation. Furthermore, in developing nations, half of all girls do not complete primary education. One of our main goals is to expand girls’ access to primary and secondary school in Uganda by increasing community awareness and support for girls’ education. Access to education for girls continues to be a major source of concern.
Education for girl’s entails more than just going to school. It’s also about girls feeling secure in the classroom and supported in the topics and vocations they choose, particularly ones where they are underrepresented. Investing in the education of girls has a profound impact on communities. Girls who acquire an education are less likely to marry early and lead healthier, more productive lives. They have higher salaries, are more involved in the issues that impact them, and are able to better their own and their family’ destinies.
