Every child deserves a good education, but the impacts of poverty on children can be severe and long-lasting, and the poorest and most vulnerable children are the ones who are least likely to receive it. At the heart of YCSN’s work is ensuring that children in isolated, disadvantaged communities have access to high-quality education, allowing them to grow into active, engaged, and resilient people capable of navigating shocks and overcoming adversity.
The YCSN educational sponsorship program assists children and communities in receiving a solid education, which provides them hope for a better future by lowering the illiteracy rate in their neighborhood.
We think that supporting the holistic development of individual students as well as their larger school community is the key to long-term change. The sponsorship program assists partner schools in providing a safe and high-quality learning environment for all students, eventually maximizing the community’s influence. The YCSN Child Sponsorship Program aids in the development of schools. Partner schools are equipped and empowered to take charge of their own development, provide high-quality education, and work toward a more sustainable future. Supports OVC by supplying educational materials, seeking funding, and obtaining a bursary for their studies. This allows them to study in peace. We also provide teacher training, adaptable materials for orphaned children and youth, and community OVC support mobilization. Pens, pencils, arithmetic sets, books, reams, school uniforms, school shoes, school backpacks, school rulers and school stockings are examples of these materials.
